Aschalew Tamiru's Brief Biography

Aschalew is a very passionate branding, marketing and banking professional and certified consultant and trainer. He is contributing to the professions in various ways. He authored a book titled “Make a difference with customer service”. He has been written and published a number of branding related articles. Aschalew has also made his professional contributions through interview with various media such as news paper, TV and radio.

Aschalew has led three huge projects; rebranding projects of Bank of Abyssinia. He has initiated, organized and led Dashen bank’s Job creation and entrepreneurship project called Dashen Kefta and he was one of the juries for the contest. Besides, as per the request of Ethiopian job creation commission, Aschalew volunteered and judged job creation ideas and works of contestants for three rounds.

Aschalew has initiated, organized and led the well acknowledged & recognized marketing and branding launching campaigns of the Amhara Bank while he was serving the Bank at capacity of Marketing and Corporate communication Director for more than a year. He has produced training manuals and conducted practical trainings to various institutions.

He is among the first Marketing Management post graduates of the Addis Ababa University. He has a total of 19 years of working experience. He has been a lecturer of Marketing and Management courses in various Universities and Colleges for more than eight years. His industry experience started when he joined Commercial Bank of Ethiopia as the first post graduate management trainee and served the Bank in different capacities including marketing, Branch manager and internal trainer.

Aschalew has been served Bank of Abyssinia and Dashen bank in the capacity of Marketing manager and Marketing and Customer Experience Director respectively. Besides, Aschalew was internal trainer and delivered a number of trainings while he was working for the Banks.

Aschalew is the founder and CEO of HayaSebat Marketing and Branding PLC. He is founding member of two Professional associations, Ethiopian Marketing and Entrepreneurs Associations.

Aschalew is hosting a business TV show on NBC Ethiopia called “Sile Business Ke Aschalew Tamiru Gar” & radio talk show, Business 27, on Bisrat FM 101.1.

Besides, Aschalew is providing business development services through GOPA project in Ethiopia.
